Ways to keep vegetables for longer periods of time

  • If you want to have your vegetables stay fresh for a long time soak them in water mixed with vinegar or lemon juice for one hour. Also, this is pesticide-free. Then drain the water well and keep it in an airtight packet in the fridge. To make the work more manageable and less time-consuming, vegetables can be cut in a few days, steamed and filled in a separate box, and stored in the deep freezer.
  • Wrap green leafy vegetables including coriander leaves, onion leaves, lettuce leaves, and many other vegetables in paper bags and keep them in the fridge to keep them fresh for a long time. Special attention to this, since vegetables do not stay well in the refrigerator for too long.
  • Carrots stay well in the fridge when cold. Wash the carrots well, cut them, put them in a container with the mouth closed, and keep them in the refrigerator. It will also be accessible for later use.
  • Mushrooms and tomatoes will be better if kept in a paper bag or a newspaper.
